• Conference Updates - As we evaluate our ministry and the transitional living program, we are excited to see that Adriana and Ramona have adjusted well, while Claudia is only at the beginning trying to find her own place in the home. (more)

• Harrison Sisters Visit Romania - We did not know how close we would become, as sisters, or how much closer our relationship with God would grow in the summer of 2008. We went into the trip with open-hearts and open-minds, but were never fully prepared for the emotional toll the trip would take on us. (more)

• “Fatherless” in Romania - Go Therefore Orphan Ministry is excited to announce opportunities to assist the “Fatherless” in Romania. With the assistance of the Buckner Foundation in Romania 2 mission trips have been scheduled for 2009. (more)

• New Transitional Home for Young Women Opens in Tirgu Mures, Romania - In January 2009, Buckner International – Dallas, Fundatia Buckner – Tirgu Mures, Romania and Go Therefore Orphan Ministries combined efforts to open a transitional home for young women ages 18-22 moving from an orphanage setting into young adulthood. • Greatest Gift of All - I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It’s 1 am, and I still can’t sleep because I can’t stop thinking about a certain gift I received this morning. It was truly the greatest gift of all. (more)

• Redefined - The month I spent in Romania as a Buckner intern, God used in ways I never would have imagined. I left America certain I would minister to the orphans of Romania and asked God to teach more about being a servant. But I learned so much more. Don’t get me wrong, I learned so much about serving others, but God redefined an area I thought I understood. (more)

• Mortacuine - In only a few days children I had never met before captured my heart. We have been back from our August mission trip to Romania a few weeks now but I still find myself thinking about the kids that we shared our time with. Vacation Bible School at Buckner’s CDC in Tarnaveni, Romania was a huge success. (more)

• Anxious Hearts - Many prayers & preparations had gone into the 6 months leading up to the 2008 VBS camp for the children who reside at the formerly all-girls orphanage in Zau deCampie, Romania. Just before the kids were to arrive my heart began to feel a bit anxious. (more)

• The Gooey Center - One of the analogies we used to show the kids how hearts can be turned hard was the example of a Tootsie Roll pop. Sometimes we have to go to allot of work to get to the goodness of the “gooey center.” (more)

• “We are working on putting the final details in order” says Tim Oloffson who will be leading a mission trip to Romania in just a few short days. The first of Go Therefore…Orphan Ministry’s summer mission trips will takeoff on June 19. (more)

First let me start by saying that what is happening in my family is a direct result of the work that God is calling you to do in Romania for the orphaned children there. (more)

• Zau Orphanage in Romania
Kids from all over North Central Illinois have been becoming personally involved in the birthday celebrations for the children from the Zau Orphanage in Romania. Leaders from Go Therefore Orphan Ministry have been visiting churches and Sunday school classes sharing the needs of the orphaned children from Romania. (more)

• My story is very simple.
For anyone who has felt God tug on their hearts to go and serve, just follow His will. I have spent most of my life steering away from anything that set me outside of my comfort zone. (more)

• VBS
When I first decided to approach Buckner with the idea of doing a VBS camp with the girls from the Zau orphanage I had no idea how my life would be changed. Doing all the prep work for a trip like this is time consuming and at times frustrating. (more)

• 5 Days Can Make a Difference

Upon the arrival of the children at the campsite outside of Targu-Mures, Romania, smiles and laughter were abounding from the smaller children who made the 1 hour trip from the Zau orphanage. The teenaged youth were much more protective of their personal space and a look of distrust were on their faces. (more)
